A Place Where Children Come First

The GREEN ROOM: Classroom 2 is Our Green Room where we have All of our programs for TWO Year Olds. Our 2 Year Old Classes have a maximum of 8 children with a teacher and an assistant. We divide our Two's by birth dates so children born January - June attend on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and children born June - December attend Tuesday/Thursday.  If there is enough enrollments to offer afternoon classes the dates are January - May for 3 half days and June - September for 2 half days. (Usually children born later than September are still napping in the afternoons.) Our goal for this age group is that children will come 0 a place called "School" and have a good time learning to separate from their family/nanny and they will learn to share time: and space with 7 other peers. They will sing and read stories and learn to play near and later, with, the teachers and children. Our day is structured to offer indoor activities, outdoor activities and story, snack and music within the 2 ½  hour day. Many years we also offer an Adult and Child Program in the afternoons which takes place in this room.

No matter which classroom is used for any age group, Weekday Nursery School has a great deal of flexibility with room usage and so we look at our annual enrollment picture to determine the best way that we will serve the needs of our children, families, and staff. Nothing is written in stone here---we are constantly evolving and changing to meet the needs of our families. the needs of our Community and evolve to grow to meet those needs is one of the reasons Weekday Nursery School has remained a leader in EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION since 1966.
