Dear Weekday Nursery School Friends & Families,

     As John F. Kennedy once said "Change is the law of life. And those who look to the past or present are certain to miss the future"

My name is Niki Guida and I am honored that I have been hired as the new Director of Weekday Nursery School. I am excited that I will be working with the many dedicated teachers whose longevity speaks volumes. I am looking forward to leading the day-to-day operations to allow for maximum potential for growth in every aspect of Weekday Nursery School. I am up to the challenge of upholding the fine reputation that WNS has by offering a quality Nursery School program to the New Rochelle community.  With my many years of experience in Early Childhood Education and leadership skills, it will allow the programs that WNS offers to truly blossom.

As a past director of other community-based Nursery Schools in Westchester and Fairfield counties, I had many opportunities to offer curriculum training to fellow staff members in the areas of classroom management, portfolio assessment, differentiated instruction, Developmentally Appropriate Practice as well as effective parent communication skills.  My most recent accolade was achieving NAEYC Accreditation under the new, more stringent standards. It was a culmination of a very introspective 2 year process in which I was able to dissect every aspect of running a quality Early Childhood Program. I will encourage the staff to continue to grow professionally and help them to "keep a finger on the pulse" of the current trends and best practices in Early Childhood Education.  This will support children in their quest in becoming life-long learners.

I am looking forward to getting to know each WNS family over the next few months.
