Our Teachers

Harriett Coscia has been working at Weekday for 3 years.  She has a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College.  She also has a second Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling.
She believes in the Whole Child approach and feels that there is a commitment towards providing children with a school experience full of learning, multi sensory experiences, discovery and play. She enjoys making the Green Room a CREATIVE space for children. Mrs. Coscia is also one of our Lunch and Learn Teachers. 
 Donna Wells has been at Weekday for 9 years.  Prior to teaching here, Donna spent the majority of her time volunteering at here as both of her children attended Weekday when they were preschoolers.  Mrs. Wells enjoys the team teach approach that Weekday encourages.  She holds her Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential from the Child Care Council of Westchester.
Mrs. Wells leads the Lunch and Learn program, continuing Weekdays commitment to educating young children in a developmentally appropriate way.
Gianina Wechsler joined the Weekday family September 2010.  She holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Manhattanville College.  She runs our 3 year old program with the philosophy that children learn most effectively through play.  She provide the children with rich Social, Physical, Intellectual, Cognitive and Emotional experiences with is the SPICE of learning and development at Weekday.
Bernadette Wilson has been an Assistant Teacher at Weekday for the past 2 years.  She was a substitute teacher when her own 3 children attended.  Mrs. Wilson holds a Bachelor's Degree from Iona College in Computer Science but has always enjoyed working with children. She carried the Weekday philosophy with her and feels that the children are cared for with positive words and guidance.  SHe enjoys providing children with a safe and nurturing play based environment.
 Jean Van Valen has been an assistant teacher at Weekday for 10 years. Teaching is Mrs. Van Valen's second career.  She worked in finance for many years in Manhattan before changing careers.  She has her Child Development Associate (CDA) from Foundling Hospital. She has 3 grown children. Mrs. Van Valen enjoys her time at Weekday and feels that the teachers are all family.  She loves the being in the classroom with the children and watching them grow and learn.
Linda DeChance joined the Weekday team of teachers in September, 2010. She holds a Masters Degree from The College of New Rochelle. She spent many years as a Kindergarten teacher at Jefferson Elementary School right here in New Rochelle.  After having her two daughters, she taught at Mother and Child Nursery School for 15 years. Linda's philosophy of Early Childhood aligns with Weekday's philosophy and she carries out Developmentally Appropriate Practices in her classroom.
Sue Bazon has been an Associate Teacher for 12 years. She holds a CDA as well as concentrated coursework in Early Childhood Education.  She continually brings her photographic talents into the classroom creating photo walks of the children's experiences in the classroom.  She loves being a part of a unique group of teachers whose dedication and knowledge of this field speaks volumes.  She loves coming to work each day. 
Meaghan Fullerton has been a teacher at Weekday for the past 5 years. She has worked in our 2's classroom 3 years then found her niche as the Lead Teacher in our Senior Pre-K program.  She holds a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College. Mrs. Fullerton loves the child centered approach that Weekday offers children.
Maria Fazio has been a teacher at Weekday for 6 years.  She has worked in many of our classrooms as an assistant and lead teacher. Mrs. Fazio is currently working on her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. She strongly believes in allowing children to learn through play and multi sensory experiences.
Grace Russo is an assistant teacher in our Senior Pre-K class as well as in our Afternoon 3's class. She has been at Weekday for 11 years and continues to offer children in the New Rochelle community a nurturing and supportive preschool experience.  She enjoys working with the different age groups and seeing the children flourish.
Mrs. Russo holds a business diploma and studied for 2 years at Lehman College.
Jean Jeraci is our Music Specialist.  She has been working at Weekday for over 15 years.  Before that, she had 2 children who came to Weekday.  Mrs. Jeraci studied piano at a very early age. She continued her education by studying theory and piano at Hoff Barthelson Music School. Mrs. Jeraci loves introducing different genre's of music, instruments and rhythm to young children.
